With the aim of consolidating the works of Prof. Dr. Muhittin Binan (1913–2003), including his architectural activities, and the projects of Prof. Dr. Can Şakir Binan and Prof. Dr. Demet Ulusoy Binan, BNN - Binan Architecture and Consultancy Ltd. was incorporated in 2013.
Our practice mainly provides consultation services at both design and implementation levels for projects that fall within the scopes of architectural conservation and restoration, with the passion and motive of furthering and contributing to the intellectual discussion around conservation and adaptation.
Born in 1956 in Istanbul, he graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1976 and completed his studies at the İDMMA Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture, in 1981. With his thesis titled "A Study on the Conservation Criteria of 13th Century Anatolian Caravanserais", he earned his Doctorate degree from Istanbul Technical University in 1991, became an Associate Professor in 1996, and was appointed as a Professor at Yıldız Technical University in 2010.
His areas of expertise include the History of Architectural Conservation, Conservation and Restoration Technology, World Heritage, International Charters on Conservation, and Medieval Anatolian Architecture.
Alongside his books, articles, and research on architectural conservation and restoration, he is a member of the ICOMOS Turkey National Committee and served as the Chair of the Istanbul III. Regional Board for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Assets between 2001 and 2010.
She completed her undergraduate architectural education at the Istanbul State Academy of Architecture and Engineering and her Master’s and Doctorate degrees at Yıldız Technical University. With her thesis titled "A Methodological Study for the Preservation of Masonry Stone Residential Architecture in the Cappadocia", she earned her Doctorate in 1994, became an Assistant Professor in 1998, an Associate Professor in 2000, and a Professor in 2007.
Since 1985, she has been a faculty member in the Department of Restoration at the Faculty of Architecture, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. She served as a member of the UNESCO Istanbul World Heritage Monitoring and Steering Committee from 2006 to 2008 and as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Istanbul Historic Areas Site Management from 2008 to 2016, later continuing as an expert member.
Since 2012, she has been a member of the Advisory and Coordination Supervision Boards for the Pergamon Multilayered Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site, serving as Chair of the Advisory Board since 2020.
Born in 1998 in Istanbul, he graduated in 2017 from Saint Joseph High School and the part-time program at MSGSÜ State Conservatory, which he attended simultaneously. After completing a Foundation Year at University College London, he earned his undergraduate degree from the Architectural Association in 2021.
Following a year of professional experience, he began his Master’s (MArch) degree at the Architectural Association in 2022, completing it in 2024. He currently continues his architectural work in London.
